On 28th January 2017 my little family's lives changed.  Here's my story:

my my daughter had always wanted a sibling. Year after year she would hound us for one. We had finally decided to go for it and started trying to grow our little family. After a long 12+ months we had finally done it. We were adding to our family. 6 weeks in and our we found out our world was going to get a little crazier because we were having twins.

each week we heard the same words over and over ... your babies look perfect. It was music to our ears.  Until that one day ... the day of my 20 week scan ... this was the day that our hearts broke into a million pieces. 

Words i I will never forget ... I can't find a heart beat, on either of the babies.  Our world was turned upside down. 

On the 28th January I delivered my beautiful girls, Molly and Mykie.  They are and will always be our little angels.

i have decided to make it my mission to get a Cuddle Cot for Mackay Base Hospital so other families can have the same opportunity to spend time with the sleeping baby like we did ours.

Here's a little information about Cuddle Cots:

A Cuddle Cot is a cooling system that has been designed to fit within a small cot. This effective system allows for babies who have passed away to remain with their families so that they are not required to be cooled in a mortuary environment. Cuddle Cots enable family members to travel to visit and meet the baby, siblings to meet one another and even gives parents the option of taking their baby home to lay in their own cot, in their own room or travel in their own car seat. 

It’s about giving parents choices and reassuring them that they can spend as much time as they like with their baby, without the fear of the baby needing to be cooled in a traditional mortuary.
